| Another Killie ? | |
M.J.![]() Fingerling Posts: 27 Kudos: 31 Votes: 0 Registered: 31-Mar-2005 ![]() | I have been doing tons of reading/looking and am becoming more and more enthralled with these guys. In the end it looks like we will probably end up with a 5 and 10 gallon and maybe a 29 gallon for killis as well. I have gotten some great feedback on killies for the smaller sized tanks but what about the larger one??? I've been over on Aquabid and WOW -- so many to choose from....what would you say would be a good species or grouping for a 29? |

Also, when keeping killies wanting to breed them is almost inevitably because they are addictive, relatively short lived and expensive to buy. When it comes to breeding mixing species (which you tend to do in bigger tanks) is not a good idea because species can cross and often it is near impossible to tell apart many species of young fish or of females. Back to you original question. The 29Gal tank could by divided up into a number of smaller tanks and you can keep more species or you could go for a few of the bigger species like Apy. Sjoestedti or larger Epiplatys and add some dwarf cichlids and or catfish. Dean |

Or you can use it as a rearing tank. Breed a pair in the smaller tank, you should get a bunch in a week or two and just raise them in the 29. I'm pretty sure that would like nice when they grow out. |
