I've not been able to find much info on them but now it is getting pretty big and does not really look like a goby to me... Anyway, I have posted a pic below, hopefully someone can tell me what it is or at least confirm that it is an African Goby. Thank you! ![]() ~jamie~ attached this image: ![]() |

I did and saw something called "West African Sleeper Gobby". If the pic I saw on google is the same named fish they are not similar. A better pic may be needed also. At least, from a quick comparison with Cory_Addict's link above. |

I can tell you it is definetly not a peacock gudgeon. The gobies, morgundas and gudgeons do look like they are similuar in a lot of ways. I did not see any of the fish on the link provided however that really actually fits my supposed "west african sleeper goby". Oh well, it was worth a shot. Thank you everyone for your input! ![]() Edit: I thought I'd add another photo or two.... ![]() ![]() Last edited by ~jamie~ at 21-May-2005 08:42 |

It is a species of dormitator. Be careful, as most species reach at least 8”, are reasonably predatory, and prefer brackish conditions. |

The closest thing I have been able to find is the Dormitator lebretonis. There are not a lot of pics either way that I can find. Thanks so much for your input! |

Perches and gobiids are completely different. The markings are definitely of a sleeper of some sort. Last edited by Cup_of_Lifenoodles at 28-May-2005 19:56 |
