| Anything compatible with Danios? | |
phoenix5724![]() Hobbyist Posts: 87 Kudos: 66 Votes: 0 Registered: 17-May-2005 ![]() | I have seven danios in my 29 gallon tank (36x16x12) and four ottos. What else could i fit in this tank? They are avid swimmers obviously and are constantly on the move, what other type of fish would work in this tank and not be annoyed by these little buggers? I really like bloodfins and black phantoms but saw a tank at a local shop with silvertips and a pair of rainbows along with a bunch of other tetras and it looked really cool. I would add a school of 6 cories if you like bottom feeders or a school of tetras would work too. I keep cardinals and black neons with my danios without a problem. |

If you want to remove them do it before you add any more fish as you do not want to stress out the new commers. I like them because they stay on the bottom, I would like to stay away from guppies and live bearing fish like them. I really like tetras! If i go with small tetras how many can i have? |

Flame tetras are neat little fish that dont like it too hot, they stay small and are fairly cheap. Get small school of 6 to start and see how it goes. |

Corydoras are also a schooling fish, & so, you also need 6 for your bottom. If you take the Danios back to your LFS, you can replace them with a school of Tetra's. There are plenty of Tetra's to choose from, with different body shape & colours. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Some species can be fairly large such as the bronze cories (2-3" ) while others are quite small such as dainty cories(less than 1" ). The smaller species tend to be a bit more sensitive to water quality and prefer more company. Last edited by sham at 08-Sep-2005 15:49 |
