I have seven danios in my 29 gallon tank (36x16x12) and four ottos. What else could i fit in this tank? They are avid swimmers obviously and are constantly on the move, what other type of fish would work in this tank and not be annoyed by these little buggers?

I really like bloodfins and black phantoms but saw a tank at a local shop with silvertips and a pair of rainbows along with a bunch of other tetras and it looked really cool.

Well you could add a school of cories and a school of tetras, but you have seven danios which is quite a bit for a 29g. I would add a school of 6 cories if you like bottom feeders or a school of tetras would work too. I keep cardinals and black neons with my danios without a problem.

After one Zebra Danio led me a merry dance all over the Betta 31lt tank for at least two weeks they are not the best at being caught.

If you want to remove them do it before you add any more fish as you do not want to stress out the new commers.

Thanks for the suggestions, i have planned on getting cories, how many would anyone suggest? I like them because they stay on the bottom, I would like to stay away from guppies and live bearing fish like them. I really like tetras! If i go with small tetras how many can i have?

Tetras that like it at the cooler end of tropical in the mid seventies would be good. Flame tetras are neat little fish that dont like it too hot, they stay small and are fairly cheap. Get small school of 6 to start and see how it goes.

6 would be the minimum, as they like to stay in schools.
Corydoras are also a schooling fish, & so, you also need 6 for your bottom.
If you take the Danios back to your LFS, you can replace them with a school of Tetra's. There are plenty of Tetra's to choose from, with different body shape & colours.

You need 6 of the same species of cory. Some species can be fairly large such as the bronze cories (2-3" ) while others are quite small such as dainty cories(less than 1" ). The smaller species tend to be a bit more sensitive to water quality and prefer more company.

Cories will school within the same species as well so they dont HAVE to be all the same but it would be prefered.

i had some Barbs with my zebra danios and they were fine, as well as coolie loachs they were alright too, though i wouldnt see them for weeks on end cause they loved to hide, but you know

you could try a krib or 2, or some rams, pretty much any kind of barb (i'd stay away from the ones that get too big tho), firemouths, rainbowfish, the list goes on.

neon dwarf rainbows are really entertaining. they're VERY fast when they eat. it's really neat to watch. a school of them would cover the middle part of the tank while the danios would stay up top... you should try to cover all 3 main areas of the tank (top, middle, bottom)

you could try...
school of danios
school of neon dwarf rainbows
school of corys

that'd be one fun tank to watch!
