A tank caught my full of what at first glance were adult Praecox. Then I noticed while they were definately Praecox -classic body shape and red finnage - they also had a realatively faint but noticeable yellow and dark blue horizintal stripes down the middle. Hybrids ]:| I've kept Praecox for over ayear so I'm sure that's what they but the coloring looked like they were from a Turquoise. Hope these Asian (that's were I live) breeders aren't going to start messing around strange versions of Rainbows Inevevtible I guess.Don't know why they bother. This particular match ended up with much of nothing. The deep irredescent blue of a normal Praecox was lacking and the stripes were too weak to be striking. So it was gerenally blah. The originals are so much better. ![]() Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

The lines currently sold in the States, can be dull and/or unknown. There are a dozen or so breeders in my local area (including myself), that have aquired wild of F1 pure rainbows. We are currently breeding them in hopes of getting the more pure lines back into the hobby. Most crosses, take away from the already beautiful appearance of these fish. That is the problem of late, as people are purposefully trying to cross them for a new fish, but it just takes away from the originals. I think it is Mother Nature's way of saying, don't mess with this pure and already beautiful fish. lol There is always a bigger fish... |
