I was wondering if anyone knows of any fish from asia that in the wild spawn only once a year? I am working on spawning a few different loaches. I have a number of Ideas that I am working on.
If anyone has the answer to this question it would greatly help me out. Or if you have suggestions on what to try or if you are also working on spawning loaches let me know what you are trying to do to induce spawning so that way I will try somthing else. So that we may try multible ways of spawning these types of fish.

thanx

i bred my khulies a few times i cant member exactly but im pretty sure there asian
if im wrong sorry for the incovience
they need soft acidic water 6.4ph fine leaved plants hornwort n java ferns i had a crushed granite black substrate i lowered the water level then used a mister to refill the tank for several days (i was trying to get my virgin blue rams to spawn treid everything) my khulies were jsut over 4" n i had had them for over a year they were bout 1" long when i got them so they were im guessing a year n half old the female swelled up like a snake that had eaten a frog she became very timid n slow moving then but 2 days later she swam to the surface with my male circling herrolling around in the water colume n she droped green coloured eggs onto the leaves
i never successfully raised any fry but they laid eggs every 3 months for another year n quarter or so they lived to i figure 3 years
very interesting to watch i hope this helps if u have any other questions bout breeding khulies feel free to ask me
my tetras i believe ate the eggs n any fry that did hatch
