For my birthday I will be recieving my first 55 gallon aquarium. I am not experienced in stocking anything over a 30 gallon thus any assistance at all is greatly appreciated. I am supplying a list of what I already own and what I would like to incooperate into the community. Please list any species that you think I would need to return to the LFS. Thanx in advance.
- 7 Zebra Danios (1 blue long-finned)
- 1 Upside-Down Cat
- 2 Sailfin Plecos
- 3 Otos
- 5 Assorted Corys
- Numerous Guppies (Feeder and Fancy Combination)
- 2 Calico Mollies
- 1 Balloon Molly
- 1 Female Platy
- 1 White Cloud
- 2 Paradise Fish
- 3 Harlequin Rasboras
- 2 Black Neons (I need to fill this school but as these were rescues the life they enjoy now is a blessing)
- 4 Flame Tetras
- POSSIBLY
- 1 Small Koi Angelfish
- Rams??
- Dwarf Gouramis??

Are you keeping the 30 gal ?? If so id stock like this
You also have lots of schooling fish that need more friends.a school is 6 or more fish.

30 gal
1 paradise
6 flame tetras
6 assorted cory( really should be all the same type)
3 ottos
mollys and platys

55 gal
4 upside down cats
1 paradise fish
8 harlie rasboras
6-8 black neaons
guppies
and you could add 4 loaches to the bottom,of the same type or 2 rams.

mollies n platies do best with a tad bit of salt where the paradise fish n flame tets dont apprieciate it

i cant b of much help in stocking as i dont personally care for platies or mollies
but tetras i love n have bred many types flames do best in groups of 5-7 n harliquins do best in odd numbers 3 5 7 9 etc
its ur personal choice of fish so what eva combination works for u then go wit it but if the water maintenance is kept rutine then u shouldnt have a problem mixing any ofthem in any order
