I thought, crazy kitties, they had jumped up on to the tank(crazy wasn't the inital word... ![]() ) and so i looked in the back to see if they had knocked off the tops from behind... coming back around to the front, i see something is at an angle, and it happens to be that glass bar that holds the front and back panes of glass together!!!!! So upon further, stressful investigation, the pane had pulled itself from the sealant! i about died!!! and this is the 55 gallon pirhana tank!! so long story short i now have 3 5gallon buckets 1 fish per bucket. and 2 inches of water in my 55. thank god i have a spare 55..... ] Any advice? I cant get the other 55 gallon here until after 9pm tonight.....what should I do for the pirhanas..? Each bucket has a floating plant at teh top for some privacy and to decrease the stress. as for me, im trying to breathe.:#(72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. If it's dark they may even just go to sleep. Aeration may be nice, but it can also lower water temperature, which with individual buckets like so may be hard to keep up. However, as a note, many fish can sit in a plastic bag without a plant inside for over 6 hours when being, for example, transported from a wholesaler to a fish store. With healthy piranhas you probably don't have all too much to worry about, IMO. Maybe even wrapping the buckets in towels might help in insulation or something, though. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

All should be ok. If you move the fish back tonight, don't feed them until the morning. Good luck ! |

I've had to keep larger fish for several days this way with no losses so you'll probably be okay. |
