a bass is merely a fish found in most lakes, streams, ponds etc that is usually fished for sport and/or eaten- depending on the species and location it is usually not a ferral fish

oh and when fishing for bass a good bait is freeze dried bloodworm "Fishing lures" pellets just shoot them into the water with a catapult! then brop in a hook with a rubber "fat baby crawfish" on it and hey preston watch them babys fight you! so im told

there are loads of web sites on bass baits artifical, live, frozen and freeze dried just run a search in google on bass fishing and you can get a load of information

i did have a bass

is was like 1 inch when i caught it in a homemade fish trap (actually its the only fish i caught in the trap )

i fed it fry from my livebearers, blood worms, and little bite sized bugs like crickets and the such, but my cat came into the picture and tore him real bad i had to euthinize him im never doing that again

I kept a bass from our local river. he ate every other fish in the tank as he grew.

BIG tank boys and girls, and they grow fast.

- should be pointed out that this is an Aussie bass species yours probably grow bigger

Whether it is legal or not depends on your state's game laws. Here in Florida, it is legal, but you gotta have a fishing license ($12/yr) and whatever you have in captivity counts against your daily limit. So if you keep 3 bream in an aquarium, you can only keep 47 on your next fishing trip.

(One day I will have a big enough tank to keep some natives)

This place in St. Augustine FL sells baby bass.

yea i only wish i could catch one of those guy at that size on a fishing trip.lol, but they will get way to large for a home aqaurium, but you can try for a little while anyway, but then it may become to human dependent.

My marine biology teacher has a large mouth bass in his classroom. He caught it in a net when it was barely an inch long and now it is a good foot long, it is so cool. It is in a 200 gallon or so tank by himself.

not sure if it is legal, but i don't see why not. they will need a very large tank, seeing how the large mouth bass at the bass pro shops are around a foot long.

with the plants i would get them from a lfs, just to be on the safe side.

updatek. thanks. i wish i can say the same in tthe betta forum.http://fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Advanced%20Betta%20Care/60834.html?200506222307
