This week i got some free fish from a friend, but i'm not going to keep them all because of lack of space, but with them i will continue to cycle the 9 new tanks that i have.

These are the free fish i've got:-

4 Black Widows which i'm going to keep in my Tetra tank.
1 Clown Loach which will help me keep the snails under control.
1 Silver Shark, 1 RTBS & 2 catfish (which i don't know the name). These last 4 fish will be given away next week.

Do you know the name of a Black catfish with 2 silver horizontal stripes & with big eyes?.
Can they be Pangasius Catfish?.

It almost sounds like a Striped Raphael Catfish. My Cat's stripes are a light Tan color, but it sounds similar.

This is the Spotted version:

Thanks alot but they're not Striped Raphael Catfish. I am thinking that they are Pangasius Catfish, but not sure.

The "big eyes" part definitely makes it sound like Pangasius Cats (Iridescent Sharks). You should do a quick Google search to confirm the identification, and if they are indeed Pangasius Cats, then make sure you can find a big home for them soon.

Clown loaches really should be in shoals to be happy. Is there only one?

Pangasius are fairly hard to misidentify. Provide some pictures and I'm sure you'll get a definitive ID.

superlion - No it's not like the one in the picture.

Cory Addict - Yes, it looks more like a Pangasius catfish.

pugperson - Yes, i know that they like to stay in schools, but i only got one & i will keep him with my Corydoras, so he will take care of the snails.

Sounds like African Glass Catfish, but they're more like silver with black stripes. Check them out on PlanetCatfish, there's a CotM article on that species.

They're fairly common here. One petco near me manages to always keep a large supply of them for some reason. They're just like the normal glass cats except bigger.

No, they are not African Glass Catfish, but a Pangasius. I will give them away in a few days.
