Hello-
I Just picked up a blk mystery snail. COuple of questions:
1) How do you know if you have algae in your fish tank.
2) If you do not, can you feed the snail the algae wafers?
3) Do they eat cucumbers?

THanks

most algae is a green or brown color, if you have it, it should be that stuff you have to scrape off the sides of the tank
i believe a mystery snail will eat an algae wafer, i did a quick little search and the site quoted "they usually are not picky eaters and will often feed off the same food as the other fish" http://www.centralpets.com/animals/fish/freshwater_inverts/fwi4995.html
i believe cucumbers will fall into that category.
