I wasnt prepared for them to breed, but i still learned alot. when i went to bed all was normal, in the morning the male had lost his black spot, the female normally has a pink belly which was now bright red and also the yellow in her fins was much stonger. They are both just over an inch long. i believe that the breeding was brought on by a few things, the day before i had changed 50% of the water (slightly cooler) and introduced live worms, i also turned up the powerhead filter from 80% to 100% so the current was a little stronger. I have a 20g that is set up for breeding my betas so i may try the Rams in that some time soon. A few questions Would the 20g be ok to breed the Rams? What to feed the fry? The water parameters in the 38g when they bred; Temp 27c (80f) though it drops 0.2c overnight as the room is slightly cooler. ph 6.6-6.8 Water is fairly soft just from the tap. |
