Do you mean african butterflies? Wonderful fish. It's my experience though that they are VERY difficult to breed.

Give them a seperate tank of 20-30 gallons, male and female, and floating plants. Keep the tank very clean and feed them on live food. They will lay floating eggs. Remove the parents once the eggs are laid.

The hard part is feeding the babies, as they must have moving, floating food. They won't respond to anything that isn't alive and moving, and it has to go right past their mouths if they're going to eat it. Slightly dried out daphnia is a good choice, as are any other ideas you can come up with.

Try it and see, and also look around for any information everywhere you can. It's difficult, but worth it, as they're very beautiful fish.
