Also in the tank are 11 Cardinal Tetras. These fish have been together in this tank for 8 months. The ph is 6.8 and the temp is kept at 79. The male spawns with both females constantly. I have eggs weekly, sometimes more. The problem I have is the females(I believe) are eating the eggs. The female that has spawned seems to be the guilty party. This has happened ever time. I know it is not the Cardinals cause at one time I thought this may be the problem and I removed them, to no avail. It may be the situation of two females but I don't have another tank that I could put one female in. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions. I did think of removing the eggs and I may try it the next time but it would be better to leave them in this tank cause the tank has been running for a couple years and is well seeded and stable. I'm open for suggestions and ideas, I would love to get some successful spawns from these beautiful fish. Thanks you, Michael |
