I was wondering how do I go about this? I know its similiar to the betta breeding habits, but the male Paradise fish I have kept in the past have never seemed to bulid a bubble nest when they where in a 4 gallon tank by themselves?

A 4 gallon tank is pretty small for male paradise fish, they need at least 10 gallons. I'm sure if you put one male paradise fish in a 10 gallon and feed him great food and filter the tank well he will be very happy and start to blow bubbles.

They will spawn in a ten gallon, and they don't necessarily make a large bubble nest. They also won't eat their fry, so if you can accomidate them with a larger tank and live plants, they will spawn, as long as they are mature enough. Putting the light on a timer and feeding live foods will also help. They also will do fine in a pond during the summer (northeaast USA) and will readily breed. They actually do rather well when kept at cooler temperatures, 50-70 degrees F. Mine have been in the pond for two weeks now.

They're one of the first fish I ever saw spawn, although I never saw fry since they were in a community tank. I didn't do anything to induce spawning.
