I need some help with my 150g. I'm having some alage problems, but the water (nitrite, nitrate, ect.) is perfect. Since I have so much rock in the tank, it is hard to keep it clean. I've planned on buying some bristle noses to keep the algae down, since I've read they adapt well to cichlid water conditions. How many bristle noses would you recomend? I was thinking of buying 2-3.

Any help is appreciated!

What colour algae is it you are battling? 2-3 bristlenoses would be fine for brown algae. Just make sure to supplement their diet with algae tablets once they have cleaned up the tank.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

The algae is green and stays on the rocks and glass. It doesn't grow out any, it just spreads.

I would be concerned what is causing the algae to start off with. It could be caused by feeding, natural and artifical lighting. What type of lighting do you have and how long is it on for also is it too close to natural light.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
