My tank is looking a bit empty at the moment, its got:

2 Kribensis cichlids
1 Bleeding Heart tetra
6 Penguin tetras
1 Bristlenose
3 Gold barbs

something nice and colourful (but also quite hardy) qould be ideal!

thanks

Both the Bleeding Heart Tetra & the Gold Barbs need to stay in grouops of at least 6 of the same species, but if you would do that, you'll be overstocked.

Can you take fish back to your LFS?.

Overstocked? the tank looks empty!

I've had the bleeding heart for 6 years he's been on his own for about a year, gets on fine with the other fish, hangs around with the penguins mainly.

20 US Gal. is 2.5 feet long. Am i correct?.
If yes, i still think that you'll be overstocked if you add more fish.
Maybe you can add 3 more Barbs, but you have to do 25% water changes, every 2 weeks.

Stuart,

I agree with Jason, I think your tank is pretty well stocked.

Don't compare your fishtank with the tanks you see at the store, their fishload would not enable fish to survive for a long time.

See it from this perspective: What is a more relaxing and healthier place to hang out - the London Tube at rush hour or your living room couch?
