We just got a 6" Australian Lungfish and not sure how to care for it. I have read they are carnivorous, but other than that, I am feeling a bit uneducated...

Does anyone know of a good guide or want to offer any hints?

thank you.

from what i heard, they grow up to be very powerfull fish, so a custom made tank with thicker glass would be the best. um,, i dont think they need a simulated dry season. and i think that they are meat eatters, so maybe a worm ball, or beefheart.

Brewster you're one lucky son of a gun to have an Aussie Lungfish. And rich. VERY rich.

Since you have the cash lying around for an Australian Lungfish, basically all you need to do is give lotsa room (and it WILL need a lot). This fish is quite hardy from what I understand.

No lungfish NEEDS to aestivate; in captivity it is even dangerous to even try to induce it. The Australian Lungfish DOES NOT aestivate, so do not try to get it to do so.
