Does anyboby (uk) know of and websites or companies that custom build large tanks for the public?

i'm up grading and can only fit in a 4.5ft long tank max so would like one between
48x18x18 - 54x20x20

Cheers shekoi.

shekoi,

I don’t know who could help you with this custom tank issue, but I have a question for you:

Would that also mean custom stand and lighting?

I am lucky to live not too far (about 200mi) from an aquarium manufacturer. I've emailed them and they are willing to make custom sizes. They are in Tennessee USA, but perhaps there is a manufacturer in your area?

If not, I know of a web site (www.garf.org) that has an interactive page to provide the specs for a DIY tank. Enter your desired dimensions, and out pops the parts list and assembly steps... They have probably been mentioned on FP before.

i built a couple of tanks to garfs specs, turned out ok but the 8ft leaked and i had to strip it down and re silicone the glass back in, unless you really want to diy and are fairly handy i think getting a custom made would be the way to go.

OH TOLEEDY!

Have a look around at LFS and see if they have the manufacturers name on them. Another thing is to look up the phone book. Or just ask at your LFS about a custom tank.
