Hey everyone
I have noticed some of my fish feel a lil insecure (mainly blue rams)
Im looking for some kind of rock to make caves and what not with. so far i got 2 pieces of driftwood but they are claimed by the plecos and cory's.

So basically what is good type of rock that wont distract from a natural looking tank and wont raise my Ph. Im trying to accomdate my rams as best as possible

thanks for help

Slate works well, is cheap, commonly available, and is safe for your tank. Just be careful when handling, pieces can get sharp edges. If you do have some sharp edges, go ahead and smooth them down with some sandpaper.

You can also use a clean PVC pipe for a nice lil cave too. You can use some 100% silicone (no additives!), coat the ouside in a thin layer and roll the pipe in substrate. This'll create a nice little haven that blends in and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb

i used drainpipe and stacked 3 on top of each other in a pyramid and then placed rocks over the top to make it look natural and if you place them against the back of the tank you can still see the fish in the cave

OH TOLEEDY!

Rocks, pipes, slate, pots, coconut shells & driftwood are all used to make some aquascaping.
