I have an empty 20 gallon, ready to be set up. Was thinkin bout stocking options. I know im going to put 6 of my cories from my 55 in there and thats bout all I know. Would Dwarf puffers be allright in a tank like that or would they be a combination for disaster with the cories. I was thinking if dwarf puffers wouldnt work, some molly's or fancy guppys. Third choice would be some tiger barbs. What do yall think, stocking lists are welcome!

I wouldn't put dwarfpuffers with anything peacefull. They can and will nip and will most likely cause stress to anything that can't hold its own. I hear stories from people saying they do fine with community fish...only way i can see that is if the tank is huge and they have their own territories. I think you could have about 10 dwarf puffers in a 20 gallon if you keep it as a species tank. Ottos will usually work to but keep your tank heavily planted .

IMO- Dwarf puffers should be kept with themselves, and thats it...

Forgot to say what I thought you should stock with. I think that tiger barbs would be just an okay choice, you'd be better off with gold barbs IMO. Maybe a school of harlies or rummies, and a centerpiece fish like rams or a gourami or two?

Dwarf Puffers are brackish water fish- Corys are not. Simple enough, it wont work.

Dwarf puffers are freshwater, not brackish. Otos are one of the few fish that DPs don't seem to bother. People have had luck keeping them with various other fish but it seems to depend on the individual fish.

Tiger barbs would be a good choice. If you're looking for more variety and color get guppies, although if you go with a M/F mix be prepared for fry.

In my 20g I am going to start setting up, eventually will have 2 neon gourami's, 10 or so cardinal tetras and 3 dwarf spotted cory.

My LFS, actually two of them right near me sell Bio Spira so this will help but I will still take my time.

So excited!!! Have a 2 1/2g w/male betta and two of the same corys, they get a long great and look good!

Have fun w/it!!

Why don't you add some Fancy Guppy's with the Corydoras.
