Maybe someone could start a weekly event where each week a different species is the focus of the contest.

to those who want this contest to be "open"...

this is a BETTA contest. As odd as it seems, its just a tradition to only have bettas in betta contests.

plus, the world's ungliest betta would still beat the world's most beautiful angelfish.... angels just suck at being bettas

I don't have a betta or a digital camera. Getting nowhere FAST!!!

well dont forget to get some bettas, and get those pics in, remember/mark on calander sept 30.

What's the prize?

*perks head up* Prize?!?! oh, well. If only my betta wa doing well....he seems to be feeling a little down...(maybe he'll be okay in time for the contest)

anyway, just a reminder, the betta contest is now open, and will be closed on sept 30, next judging, and maybe a prize.

who said i owned it i was just stating that if u feel that u want to see another contest open, set it up with a mod (i think u have to) and gather up some of your friends that know alot about the species (like, what its suppost to look like) and the such

The thing is that more people have bettas than bolivian rams or angelfish. You wouldn't be able to have enough support for a contest with some of those fish.

If you are sending an email with many attachments, please reference the photo (tyedie.jpg) and then let us know what class your fish is to be entered in

If you are unsure of what category your fish should be entered in, please let me know in the email, and we will place it in the correct class for you.



PLEASE REMEMBER - This is a PHOTO CONTEST, we can only judge from the photographs you provide. If we cannot see parts of the fish, it will lose marks.

THE FISH MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE IN THE PHOTOGRAPH


Now, we are allowing unlimited entries this time, so this is your chance to enter the best of your stock!


All entrants can have reviews after the contest winner is announced, with the markings recieved, and clear explanations of why the fish did or didn't place
If you don't want to know, that is fine, but if you do, it will be made available.

CROWNTAILS (rays extending past the webbing, SR, DR, DDR, and balloon)

DOUBLETAILS (two tails, either HM or VT DTs are accepted)

HALFMOONS (Must be EXACTLY 180*, can include rosetail)

SINGLETAILS (Includes Delta and SD)

VEILTAILS (bottom-heavy singletails, THE CLASSIC BETTA!)

PLAKATS (Roundtail, Traditional Show Plakat and HMPK)

WILDS (Imbellis, Smaragdina, Pugnax, Falx, etc. HYBRIDS NOT INCLUDED)

OTHER (combtails, pintails, feathertails etc)

Whats wrong with a Beeta contest. I like it a lot , even though i dont have any bettas . I think we should have an angelfish contest too .

Yeesh, it almost sounds as if the Betta Contest belongs to you.

its not the bets picture, its the best specimin, most other fish of the same species look identical...boring bettas is what the contest is, and if u dont like it, open your own personal contest

It's open only for Betta's?. That's really sad. I agree with Robby, make it open & may the best picture wins.
