I know the celebes rainbows can be adapted to full freshwater though. I am not sure about the archerfish though. I am sure that the archer fish will eat pretty much anything. Are archers the ones that spit water out of the water to wash bugs from leaves into the water to eat? |

All you have to do is provide land. Paludariums can be pretty ambitious once you want to add land plants; it means there has to be soil and a means to separate the land portion away from the water portion. Usually paludariums are half filled aquariums with a land portion inside the aquarium, but there are some people that manage by building something outside of the aquarium and filling the aquarium all the way up. If you want to do it all inside the fish tank, basically the idea is that you take a squeaky clean fish tank and partition some of it off with a piece of glass that's siliconed in place. Fill one side with the necessary gravel for drainage and soil on top of that, and the other side with water. Archers are specifically a problem when they get larger as a good amount of water is required, and so a rather large tank is necessary for when they get older, especially if you're only filling it halfway up and taking out even more of the water for land. Do a search on paludariums on Google and you'll get idea for what they look like. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
