This means they need to be kept from aggresive tankmates at all costs. They only eat live fish. Any thin bodied fish will work for this purpose. Keeping them with smaller fish is cautioned against. They can eat surprisingly large prey. Salt is not a necesity. Im not sure if they can even have salt in their water. 20 Gallon Long: Aquaclear 300 2 Bolivian Rams, Mikrogeophagus altispinosus: Gumby and Pokey |

This is all I know from reading: 1) Morays need a tank twice the gal as they will get big. I.E. A Moray that gets about 20" needs a 40 gal tank 2) Tank mates are typically limited, Morays will eat anything that will fit in thier mouths. 3) Tight enclosers are needed 4) Many hiding places are needed Inky ![]() |

They are used to needing to squeeze through tight caves/rockage. I don't see any reason why one would not try to escape, and the literature I read agrees. (I love reading about Morays although I dont have one) Inky ![]() |

First point was that their name is a misnomer, they aren't solely freshwater but will venture into fresh water. They may survive for a period of time but then will detriorate until they are returned toa brackish or salt environment. Additionally, they grow large... __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |
