Right now mine seems to be SE Asia. I've got rasboras, cherry barbs, an opaline gourami, and a dwarf flame gourami all from that region, and it's working out great. Only the platies and the pleco (both from S. America) seem to be out of their area, but they don't mind.

In my case, South American.

There's hundreds of small delightful fish from the Amazon that you could spend a lifetime keeping and never touch anything else. The Corydoras alone can be a lifetime's speciality, let alone the Tetras ...

Plus, my tap water is naturally suited to Amazonian fishkeeping - it's soft and slightly acidic. Means that if ever I get to afford to keep Discus, they'll be happy in my water

Obsessed with bettas as I am, I guess it's of little surprise what I'd consider my favorite. I'd love to create a betta biotope (or several ) one of these days.

Southeast asian/thai... whatever you want to call it then.
