The other thing of course is to always remember to enjoy feeding your fish, its also a great time to do headcounts and give them the quick once over for health and parasites and making sure they are behaving normally and eagerly to their food. Dont let it become strictly routine, thats how mistakes happen.

Its much better to take minute, sit back, and watch them eat rather than just throw some food in on your way out the door. After all thats kinda why you have fish anyway isnt it? Fish are a bit like kids, you have to stop and watch them for a while, or you miss their growing up, their development , their traumas etc. It seems an odd reminder I know, but youd be amazed how many people kinda forget why they had fish in the first place.

Hi Longhairedgit, once again a wealth of good advice.

I lurve watching my fish eat. You are right, that is the time when one and all come out. In fact, i think i'm becoming obsessed with my aquarium ... i'd rather sit and watch them than the "idiot box"!!, do the housework, cook the tea, etc., etc.

I do try and feed them the same time every day tho. Regardless, whenever I approach, majority of them will swim to the front to greet me. Some of them will actually take the bloodworms from my hand.

Thanx everyone for your input

Cheers
Crusha

I feed my bettas, snails, and african chichlids once a day. My community livebearer tank I feed twice daily and stick a frozen cube in twice a week. I have fry in there, and this way I ensure that they get enough to eat. If you have fry or small bottom feeders or rather shy fish I'd suggest twice a day.
