I feed my fish small portions 2 - 3 times a day. In the morning after they have acclimatized to the light, again around mid-day and then again in the early evening. Again, making sure that only small portions are fed, and only what they will clean up in a few minutes. For my nocturnal feeders I feed after lights out to insure that they are getting the food. I usually let a betta settle in for an hour or two (or whenever it looks like it's calmed down) before attempting feeding. That goes for bettas, anyway... any other fish that goes into my community tanks gets fed whenever I feed my fish normally (evening). If you're talking in general, between say, morning and evening, I've noticed no difference. I used to feed in the morning, but I found that everyone was as loathe to leave their beds as I was. As for my cory cats, I feed them usually after lights out, because I have female bettas in the same tank and they're absolute pigs. They like to steal the cories' wafers whenever they can, but since cories are awake when the bettas are asleep... ![]() ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

As long as I know that the corys are getting their share of course. |

They enjoy a variety as much as you do. Just think if you had to eat the same 1 or 2 items every day. Employ a good variety flake or pellet food along with your others. |
