I'm ready for fish in my 125g. I know I want SA fish. Apistos or rams? Angels, definately. Tetras, 2 schools, how many of each? Hatchets, how many? Cories, 2 schools or one big one? I'm still thinking about pictus cats, so how would they work out? Then maybe a pleco?

whoa, slow down there for tetras, in that big a tank you could keep 10-20 per school which would make some *nice* looking schools. i would recommend 20-25 cardinals and 15-20 rummy noses. as for a "showcase" fish like an angel or something else, that's up to you to decide what you want a pleco would be nice, but keep in mind that they can get aggressive as they get bigger and they will make a lot of waste. and for cories, i would say one really really big school of one species maybe 15 of one species, you pick which one you'd prefer

covered-in-bees, I envy you

I am planning my 125G right now so you got a few months on me. Unlike you though, I am not planning on any larger fish like plecos or angels. As such, my recommendations are:

3 schools of tetras whereby one should be Black Neons (maybe 15 each)
1 school of 10 Cories
1 pair of Rams (German Blue) rather than Apistos
1 school of Dwarf Rainbows (maybe 6)
2 or 3 Dwarf Gouramies

Hatchets, I was thinking about them as well but decided that they jump just a little too much and I worried about them jumping out during maintenance time.

But remember, if you unconditionally agree and get this setup I would be even more jealous ]:|

I think you're ok , I don't want gouramis. Maybe not a pleco either. What about the pictus cats, will they eat anybody? How many hatchets could I get? Another big school? Anyway thanks for all the ideas!

I was thinking about a community in my 125g. Heres the thread about it. http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Freshwater/52009.html?200412260053

Well, did you get the community tank up and running?

If so, what were the fish? If not, why?

Thanks for the info,

Ingo
