hey guys, i have been feeding my newts frozen brine shrimp, and they love it.

I have 4 babie newts, and 1 adult newt.

Well, the adult newt doesnt take kindly to the other newts being around the food while it is in the tank, and the adult will bite and tear up the little ones.

I just looked in the tank, and i saw one with a leg that looked like it was bitten off and it started to grow back (you can see the little toes on it) but he isnt using the leg at all.

The newt is perfectly fine with the others when there is no food in the tank, it is just when the food is in the tank.

What can i do to stop the agression? I dont want my new newts getting killed by the bigger one.

Seperate them.....seriously, at least until all the newts are of similar size, and even then you may see some aggression during feeding times.

I cant seperate them, I have nothing to put the new newts in.

How long does it take for newts to grow full size?

WHen i fed them yesterday, there wasnt much agression.

I keep sharp-ribbed salamanders and at feeding time they can be very aggressive towards each other. What I do is turn the pump of whilst they eat as the smell of the food isnt being pumped around so they dont go mad.

no place to keep them? never underestimate the value of a temporary stock tank maybe pick up a 10 gallon for raising them, it'll cost you all of $15 for one
