	Fish Anatomy Question
LITTLE_FISH *** Little Fish *** Master of Something Posts: 7303 Kudos: 1997 Votes: 670 Registered: 20-May-2005	Gang, I was taking some photos of my latest addition to the 20G QT, a Gold Twin Bar Platy fry, maybe 2 weeks old and 1/4 of an inch long. While looking at the pictures I noticed something that I have not seen on any of my fish before. Take a look at his/her stomach and you will notice a spiral. It is not a visual illusion based on the camera angle or such, it is visible in various pictures I took. EDIT: It is visible only from one side. Now, the question is: what is that? My guess would be the intestines, is that right? Have you ever seen something like this before? Usually the peritoneal sac of a fish is opaque and hides such detail ... your platy has a sufficiently translucent peritoneal sac to make it visible under the right lighting conditions ... My first thoughts were also that it is the intestines, but I got a little worried that it might be a rolled up parasitic worm (or even Gary - - good one tetratech). And thanks for the compliments on the picture itself, although this shot made me aware that it is time to clean the glass again . BTW, my avatar probably shows this baby’s mother .
