My lfs is having a fish sale with some great quality fish and very low prices. Right now in my 20 gallon i have:
1 male paradise fish
1 female paradise fish
1 ram (im not sure of the sex)
2 knight gobys (their other home did not work out i am trying to find them another home! Please take a look in the classifieds section! I know they are not freshwater fish sorry )
Now the LFS has 6 neons for $2.99 or 6 black neons for $3.99. I am in the midst of replanting my tank so i think a tetra would look pretty. They also have platys, 6 for $3.99 and green cory cats, $1.99 each. And the rams are $3.99. (Others...phatom tetras...$1.99 each; rummynose tetras...$1.99 each.) Any suggestions? I like to have my tank look a little more full and active than it does now. Could i maybe get two more rams and see if any of them pair off b.c i am not sure if i have a male or a female? Any comments welcome!

I think that you should get black neons! They are a beautiful color and would mesh well with a planted tank!

I say you go with two more rams, and see if they pair off...but I love fry :%) Also I have got to know...Where are you at? I want to go to that lfs!!! Heidi

I am north of chicago. It is called Old Orchard Aquarium. Their website is oldorchardaquarium.com They have awesome fish and i feel like i am going to an aquarium instead of a fishstore when i go there! How many black neons should i get? Could i fit 12 or is that too many? I think i am going to get two rams, so how many black neons? Does anyone know if blacks are tougher than neon tetras? Do black neons and regular neons school together? Any body have any pictures of black neons to share? (I love pictures!! )

Should i maybe get 6 black neons, 2 rams, and some platies? Any suggestions welcomed! I cannot decide! lol I can never make desicions, especially about my tank!

Does anybody have any ideas ?????

I went to a fishstore today and bought two rainbows. The sale is not on yet but i went to a different store and they were only $1.99. I am not sure exactly what kind they are, but they are a really light-silvery blue with a reddish tint on their fins. I bought two, i am not sure if rainbows like company or not. But i need to get rid of my knight gobies and i really do not want to bring them back to the pet store. I left a note in the classifieds if anyone is interested! I saw the black neons today and they are soo cool! I think i am going to get a school. So how many black neons is the question? And could i fit two more rams or is that pushing it?
Now i have: (if i can find a home for the knight gobies...and if not i will just bring them to the store when the sale is going on)
-2 paradise fish (1 male, l female)
-1 blue ram (not sure of the sex)
-2 rainbow fish (at store classified at dwarf??)

i am still waiting for some help if anyone wants to help me! Any ideas and/or feelins and/or opinions will be appreciated! Oh i figured out that i had bought dwarf neon rainbows...still need help!

Ok...well since no one wanted to help me i went to the sale today and bought 8 black neons and 2 rams and tons of plants...i am still trying to find a home for the knight gobies...
