well yesterday i got a free 20 long from someone at my church.. it came with the tank, and the hood, the hood is a single tube flourecent bulb. no heater or filter tho, but oh well, whats free is free
i've had the tank sitting with water for over a day and no leaks so far
i am not sure what to stock this with but im thinking about shellies, or a semi heavily planted tank
any other sugestions are welcome

its me sk8freak20...i need to get premie so i can change my name back

This would be a low light planted tank with your light strip (unless it's a double) but being low profile, you'd get a good amount of light down to the substrate.
Can prob get away with quite a few medium requirement plants too.

Semi heavily planted sounds like mine LOL.

I have just under 1.4 wpg in a low profile 40 gal tank,
managing 20-25 plant types. Not bad, and happy with my plant selection, although I'm after more as others being phased out.

Really for the stocking, we could all make many suggestions but it's whatever you prefer. What types of fish interest you ? Any you haven't tried but would like to ? 20 long great for breeding or planted.
Enjoy the tank !

Shellies and RAMS are very cool fish, either one is a cool pick. A nice rocky setup with lots of shells..... or plantmania setup with pots or bog caves etc...
Keep us posted and hopefully you'll be taking some pics for us to enjoy

You can't have shellies and cacs together. Wayyyy different water requirements.
I suggest apistos. Agazzii or cacs would look great. I personally am getting 4 apistos and 8 neons and 8 hatchets. Awsome if you ask me.

Cacs are a member of the apistogramma family. They're dwarf chichlids, related to rams.
some species
