If you can find one of course - I've been looking for one for 20 years or more and still haven't found one! For bottom feeders, you could do what I do - weight the tubifex cube with a lead weight on a piece of string. My Pandas and Otocinclus absolutely love it when I do that! |

I have since learned that when the fish swallow them before they have a chance to swell up they will swell up in their stomach and could lead to other problems. This could be the cause of many of the constipation problems here on FP. As stated above, fish are just as individual as humans and there are many fish that just don't like them. Heck, i hate vinegarette dressing. ![]() |

I used to pinch off a bit of the cube with my fingernails, dip my fingers in the tank water, then rub the worms in between them. This gets the worms nice and wet, and also seperates them from each other. When I let them go, the fish recognized them as food instead of just an unappetizing cube. This method makes a mess, but it got the fish to eat those dang cubes. |

I tried pressing them against the glass, but the fish just look at it funny, and then I have a big unsightly mess in the corner of my tank :/ Inkling![]() Inky ![]() |

Once it soaks, it starts to leave a nice scent trail in the water, and my Pands and Otocinclus home in on it at a rate of knots! By the time they discover it, the cube has begin absorbing water and swelling quite nicely. Plus, the amount of effort they have to expend to pull individual worms from the pile means that by the time they've gotten a decent mouthful, it's well and truly moist. ![]() |
