Most species of "Freshwater" Pipefish are actually brackish fish and will not thrive in freshwater. They are very demanding in their care, and are best left only to very experienced aquarists.

Feeding them is often the hardest part of keeping them, and most of them starve to death within their first few months of living in captivity. They require small live foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and newborn livebearers.

If they start eating captivity, they are still very difficult to take care of because any small change in their water chemistry is enough to weaken or kill them.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
