Hi all,

Ok I sorta have a problem, well not acutally a problem. Ok here it goes...my angels breed, my goldfish breed, my guppies gave fry!!:%) I currently have 3 goldfish fry now in a 1 liter bottle. Now the livebearer gave birth and I wanna keep the fry. There are 7 guppy fry is in my 1-2 gal bowl(probably more guppy fry coming). My angels just layed their eggs. The big question can I put all these fry together? I know the angels and guppy fry should be ok together but I'm not sure if it's ok to put my goldfish fry together with em?

What u guys think?

That might work, but you'd have to keep an eye out.

I'm assuming that the goldfish fry and the angelfish fry are still tiny, even if they are freeswimming. If you put them in with the guppy fry, make sure the guppy fry are not picking on the egglaying fry. The guppy fry can be surprisingly aggresive towards smaller organisms when hungry.

You also need to remember that goldfishes have different temperature requirements. If they are accustomed to higher temps than what is typical, then they might be safe. Otherwise, they might not be too healthy.

Are you planning on letting the angelfish parents take care of the fry for any amount of time?

Yah I'll probably let the parents take care of em for a while, but they never could raise their fry properly. Is it a good idea to remove fry once they are free swimming or is that a bad idea?

I've put Angel and livebearer fry together with no problems but they were close to the same size. As long as the Angels are big enough that the guppies couldn't fit them in their mouths I think you'd be ok.

Have fun, Mike

here's my two cents for all it's worth....find a section of your guppy tank and plant it up Anarcharis is cheap, easy to grow/keep alive, and does a good coverage, then let some of the anarcharis float free in the area of the planted. Float your fry and let them go in the big tank. Yes, you will risk losing a few, but in the long run, you won't loose that many. Then it takes care of the guppy fryeating (still sounds crazy to me) the angel or goldfish fry. And honestly they will do quite fine in the plants (or mine have, I currently have the antbed problem with fry in the adult tank--then again, maybe my adults are too well fed?)

Then run to wal-mart; petsmart; somewhere and get yourself a small 10 gallon, they are $10 or less, petsmart right now they are $7.50...or get 2 of them, and your problem is fixed...

Like I said just my two cents, best o luck...Heidi
