i am not sure, the easilest way to breed these fishes is, gettinga group, of lets say 6. with this number it is around 85% that u will get a male and a female. then a pair will pair off, and at which time, u can move the others into another tank.

I don't know which is which, however, black skirt tetras can be sexed by the anal fin. In one it is parallel to the last stripe while on the other it isn't. Angels are very hard to tell until they are almost full sized. The best way to tell is the same with most South American Cichlids. Males will have a noticable bump on their head when they reach an adult size.

on the tetra front - they can be told apart primarily by the lower forepart of the fin being deeper (males) and the anal fin on the females is a bit more bodyline. In adult fish the colouration and stripes may not be sufficiently clear for you to be able to tell.

As for angels the sexual characteristics are very subtle, the shape of the head is not conclusive, and often the females will appear to be bulkier than the males in breeding condition, sometimes the head shape is dictated by the amount of fat the fish has acquired and that being the case - big heads are at least as likely in female fish. The only conclusive way is to check the shape of genital papillae- rounded on females and pointed on the males, but this is a bit tricky for the average hobbyist. Behavior is probably your best clue- typically males will be more e to stand offs with other fish, and some lip to lip biting may occur.
