no, glo fish are genetically engineered to be that way. no dyeing involved. still don't know if that's a good thing or not

no, i mean that they were made in a lab to glow in the dark. they were intended to be a reactor to certain pollutants in water, but someone got the bright idea to sell them as pets instead.

no, someone put the genes of some glowing coral or anemone or something into the DNA of some regular danios and kept trying and trying to breed them that way until they made a fish that glowed in the dark.

Glo-fish breed true, aka, if you breed glo-fish, the offspring will have the red gene in them. Only one generation of glo-fish were changed, the rest were bread, from my understanding.

Depends on which "glo" danios you are talking about. As the "Glow-Light" Danio is a true naturally occuring in nature species of danio. Its scientific name is Danio choprae. And its usual common names are the copper danio, or the glow light danio. The reason these guys get the "glow-light" common name, is their colors resemble the glow light tetra.

The "other" glo danios, are the ones that are currently being discussed in this thread, but just thought I would throw this out to you all, so you could become more confused, lol. Isn't fish keeping so much enjoyable? hehehehe
