Hello! In my son's 10g we have two bumble bee goby's and one that was sold as a "white cheek Goby". I cannot find anything about a "white cheek goby" so I am wondering if you all can help.

Hopefully this is something that someone else has seen before. We have had it for several months now and it quite cute but I would really like to be able to read up about them. Thank you for your help!

At this stage of the game it looks like a newt with fins ... but then gobies, gudgeons and related fish are odd critters full stop.

Could be a Mogurnda species, but I'd have to do a fair amount of Net trawling to be sure. Leave it with me, and if no one else comes up with a definitive ID, I'll give it a shot.

UPDATE : Does this look like your fish???

Thank you for the replies guys. No Cali, it does not look anything like that link you posted. It really does have a face of like a bumble bee goby (different color of course). It seems to "suction" itself on things simular to the bumble bee goby as well. I can't for some reason seem to get a good pic of it. It only rests for a second or two and my digital camera is not the best. I have more pics but they are not as clear...this is the clearest picture I could get below. The color of the lighting and gravel is not helping to get a good view of him either. It has little red tiny vertical stripes underside of it's body you can get a hint of that in this pic underside it's jaw.

Jamie here is a link to the pics of mine that I have [link=click here]http://photobucket.com/albums/v294/JdubsVW/Gobies/" style="COLOR: #0000C0[/link]

If you have questions about them hit me up in chat. I have had them off and on for years. My first group bred for me. One thing you will find is that most of the info you find on them is totally false or different from one site to an other. Anyways, if you have question just ask me in chat.

Your dolphin's dead...

Hey, JDubs, can you give me a little rundown on these fish? They sound interesting and I might just order a few from the LFS tonight.

I love those guys.

We sell them as "white-cheeked gobies" at my LFS. I hear they are pure freshwater as well, which is cool.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
