Last night i got some duckweed from my pond outside for my tank - so the light would be dimmer and it wouldn't be such a shock to the goldfish when i turned the light on. I only put a small amount in as i know it doesn't take long to multiply. As soon as it hit the water it was eaten Which was wierd because i've never seen the goldies eat it whilst it was in the pond.

The thing is this morning when i looked in my tank there was BRIGHT GREEN POO!! i'm hoping it was the duckweed. There arent any deseases where the fish poo goes green is there???

Typical though - i spend all summer trying to stop it over taking the pond and when i try and grow it in my tank it gets eaten before it touches the water

Yep it's the plants. My goldfish will do that when I feed them peas .
You might try increasing how much veggies you feed them and they might leave the plants alone .

The thing is they are only supposed to be in there untill we get a new pond (cracked the old one) But even when i feed them their koi pellets the big koi takes about 7 pellets and half of my duckweed.

What do you feed your goldfish/koi???

thanks

Mine get Hikari goldfish pellets and defrosted peas from the freezer.
I've heard of people feeding them other things like orange or spinach as well.

Hope the pond gets fixed soon .

Heh. Duckweed. It's a pest when you don't want it, but it makes nice free fish food for a lot of herbivores. Anyone who has large herbivorous Barbs will do well to acquire some. The Barbs will chomp on it ceaselessly.

duckweed is often fed to fishes, which in ur case is goldfish, try useing hornwort or other large floating plants instead.
