Well through alot of frustation, scratching my head trying to understand my algae problems it comes down to corrupted eco-complete.

The upside to this is with all the questions asked and answered, the testing, etc. I thing I really understand my tank and once my new shipment of EC arrives I'll be working on a level playing field.

BTW I just did a down and dirty experiment with my EC, by taking a cup of water and putting a fistful of EC in it. The water out of the tap has a reading of 0 ppm P04, after one hour the cup wit EC still had a reading of 0 ppm, but after 5 hours enough of the phosphate had leached out of the EC to give me a reading of 1 ppm, after 8 hours I was pushing 2 ppm. So you could only imagine what 6 bags of this is doing to my tank.

I'm sure some of you thought I was nuts with the slime, algae, white cloud and all the other problems I was having.

I'm sorry I know it isn't a laughing matterbut it's all I can do right now Isn't it funny how something that is supposed to be good for your tank, can make things go sooooo wrong?

Thanks Houston, it's O.K go ahead and laugh. It is pretty funny actually, although some fish paid the price.

Actually yes, I'm going to do a po4 test on the bags when they arrive. I was just reading a thread where people actually had po4 levels in the 60 - 100 ppm range from this stuff. They actually rinsed and rinsed and rinsed some more and got it down to 10 ppm.
