hi all I just have some question about breeding golden severum. I have 8 severum for mostly now 3 year they comes as a little one no bigger then a dollars coin and now they r 15cm long and 10 cm width. But I wonder why they dont have any eggs laid? Before this 8 I have another 5 severum which die in an accident . But those 5 have laid eggs like 2 time which count as those one I saw. But this 8 never laid eggs and I dont know how to tell which is male and which is female they all r so damn big . And I cant really add any live plant to the tank due to the fact the fish is so big they ate everything I throw inside so the tank right now r empty nothing but fish them self. And suggestion?

how big is the tank that they are in? they could be laying but with eight in there they may be eaten almost instantly, or there is a chance that they are all male. Get some slate or some big rocks to put in there with them they need some where to lay eggs as well.
you should be able to tell if you have a pair they will start to defend a corner a push the others away.

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."
