OK in the next month I am going to be getting a new tank somewhere between a 55-75 gallon.

I have no idea what I want to put in this tank. I do know that I want a school of spotted corrie cats. I have my eye on I think 10 of them. I wouldn't mind tetras, especially neons

I know I don't want angels, goldies, and Sis says I better not fill it with guppies

So folks what I'm asking yet again, is what do ya'll think would look nice? I want something, but don't know what...I know I have a 20 gallon right now that is cycling that will have more guppies in there (Sis, don't say it, I know I have an addiction). I have my 29 that is full of guppies, a 10 at school with guppies (ok I trully see the problem here), a 2.5 with Bad Boy, the betta in it, a 55 with Mbuna Cichlids in it.

I want something different in this one. And if not neons (I'm thinking another 20 full of them), what then? Oh and by the way I hate mollies...so folks what should I put in the tank? Heidi

Guppies would be wasting your 55-75 gallon tank imo because soon there wouldnt be much more in there than guppies.
I would have a nice school of neon/cardinal/congo tetras. An angelfish or 2 A bn plec or some pleco that you like. Mabe a nice school of a type of cory catfish that you like. What type of fish are you interested in?

NO GUPPIES SIS

Okay lets see...

Congo tetras would be cool...

Rummies and harlies get my vote, and cards if you really like the way they look...prettier than neons IMO. Some gold barbs would be nice, they're adorable. Very active and friendly, and really social IME.

For centerpiece fish...what about a pair of keyholes or German rams?

I like the idea of having the big cory shoal to fill out the bottom...and I like the idea of having a breeding pair of BNs too.

Whats available to you Sis? Go to the LFS and write down everything that catches your eye. Take Les and Sheila with you. Then report back.

Definately a big school of spotted corries. Les has said she'll donate a BN. I like the neons or cardinals, If I mixed them would they school together? or are they too different to school together? Tiger Barbs might be interesting, would they go with neons?

Les and Sheila give a bigat going to the lfss in the area tomorrow afterschool and writing down everything that strikes my fancy.

And of course sis I don't plan on any livebearers in the tank. After taking stock on how many gallons I have in guppies right now, I think I'll stop59 gallons + 20 more, is a bit excessive. So NO livebearers...Heidi

Tiger barbs usally dont mix to well with neons. And yes your cardinals and neon tetras will probably school. I have a little bit of both in one of my tanks and they school together. I'm not sure if that is because of the closeness in size or what because people told me they could school together. o well i think if you get some they will school together just what i think though you might have to do some experimenting before you figure out what works.

i've always kept fish according to broad geographic region - most of your ideas are south american so far, so why not stick to it? check out all the tetras available to you - cardinals, diamonds, rummies, lemons, etc, then all the dwarf cichlids (A. cacatuoide may be best to start out with - the males are extraordinary when full grown) then hatchets for your surface fish, cories for the bottom as well as amazing plecos, whiptails etc - (i've just about described my 6 foot tank...hehehe)

Make it a Tetra & Corydoras Tank. Panda or Leopard Corydoras & Lemon or Rummynose Tetra's.

A bigger version of mine.

12 Pandas, 12 Lemons, a brace of Otocinclus for the algae, and 12 Cardinals to start with. Put the Lemons in first (once you have plants!) and make sure the aquarium has a decent set of bogwood furnishings with Java Moss all over the place. Be patient, it takes time to attach to the wood, but when it does, you'll have a marvellous aquascape. Once the Lemons are in, carpet bomb them with live food and colour flake to turn them a lovely sunshine yellow like mine. Then add the Pandas. Put the Cardinals in last.

After that, if you have additional space, you could try 12 Beckford's Pencils. Tnen you would have a bigger version of my Panda Fun Palace™ and you'd never need a television set EVER again!

I keep on telling her angelfish. I have BTS really, really, really bad, and I want to fulfill it vicariously through Heidi's tank until I know whether or not I have a job in the spring or not.

OK I have started a new thread because I have gone to 3 LFSs in the area and made my wish list so check it here [link=wish list]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Freshwater/55211.html" style="COLOR: #66CC66[/link]
