I just got a call from 2 of my lfs and they said they got some new fish in
My tank is 75g and i have these fish in it:
1 Hoplo catfish
6 Green tiger barbs
1 Albino shark
3 Zebra danios
1 Pleco
2 Keyholes
So i need some help for some new fish that i want to have.
Iam thinking of getting 3 Discus or angelfish but not sure if they are ok with the Tiger barbs that i got,(i can trade the tiger barbs in for other fish)
What do you think i can have for top/middle and i need also some good algea/left over food eaters aswell. Is it ok to have a group of black skirt tetras?..Any ideas?
Thanks,
Robby

How about some corydoras? Lots to choose from. Thats what I would probably do. Good luck! Let me know what you go with.

Yeah the barbs would bother both the angels and discus. I would maybe go with 4-6 angels, 8-10 cories, and a 2 BN,s along with the ohter fish besides the tiger barbs.

Thanks for the replies
I think 4 discus or 4 angel fish is more than enough in a 75g..
Maybe i will get 2 kuhli loaches aswell.
Corydora...hmm..i love those pandas..

for something small otto would be good for algae, but if you want pelcos can be good. for top-to-mid i would try some gourami/white clouds.

also i don't keep tiger barbs!!NEVER IN MY LIFE WILL I ! so i can't be sure about there temper, but from the readings i can infer that they are fin nippers and may have a problem with the angels(probably not with the dicus)

If you keep the tiger barbs in a group of 6 or more i dont think they will nipp other fish.
But just in case i will trade them in anyway.

i don't have much experience with angels or discuses, but i think the list you mentioned is of very active fish.
maybe they will frighten the more slow-moving fish?

I have 6 tiger barbs in with two angel fish and they dont nip their fins at all. Then we decided to get 5 cherry barbs and they were the ones nipping fins so that was a bit of a mistake....
Discus are really hard to keep in my opinion and get freaked out very easily by more active tank mates and are generally quite wussy, especially with their water requirements. I know someone who refuses to keep them with anything other than peaceful catfish, corys etc. So maybe angels are a more robust choice?? The barbs might be ok so maybe you should give them a chance and if any fin nipping occurs, then remove them.
And khuli's are a great choice, i love them they have such sweet little faces

Your list looks good to me, but white clouds need significantly lower temps than the others, so maybe they aren't that compatible, but i'm no expert on that tho!

Nice tank pics..looks good, have you got some fry in a floating tank i see?

i think the combination of tetras and cories should work out fine. the tetras are nice to watch aesthetically, while the cories are plain cute and funny. they also should be good neighbours.
the plecos - i have no idea. i'd go for a smaller fish like the lovely ottos, so the focus would be on small fish.

(i think that there's a "focus" issue with putting small fish with big fish. the big fish get more attention being big, and when seeing them, it is hard to notice the smaller details of the smaller fish.
on the other hand, i might be wrong about it)
