Sinking Wafers and Algae Wafers. OK I know one sinks and one has algae, but there must be more to it than that. The only difference in ingredients is that the algae wafers contain dehydrated alfalfa meal...but everything else is the same. I have both and really only use the algae wafers for my BN. The sinking wafers made the bottom of the tank really nasty with the leftover food (yes I should have taken it out but didnt), so I don't really use them anymore. I would get the sinking wafers because the only algae eater you have is the BN and it will most likely eat the sinking wafers. Another choice is the sinking carnivore pellets... I guess they are like shrimp pellets..not sure though. I haven't tried them so I don't know how they differ from the sinking wafers. They should make it alot easier to pick out food. Alot of their products sound like the same thing. |

upikabu![]() Fish Addict Posts: 591 Kudos: 393 Votes: 44 Registered: 08-Jun-2005 ![]() | I have both and my bottom-feeding fish (corys, loaches, SAE, Rams) seems to slightly prefer the Algae wafers (they go really nuts once I drop it in). The smaller sinking wafer doesn't break down as quickly as the larger Algae wafer though (I've seen it intact 12 hours after I put it in), so it's easier to remove if left uneaten. -P ![]() |

I'll check the bag) The carnivore pellets are OK, but they don't sink too well and a lot of my fish didn't really like them, they much preferred the shrimp pellets. |
