The only thing I will not really do are fish that will need a larger tank when they get...larger...Convicts, invertebrates(unless it includes fish in the stocking plan) or easy stock plans ie like a large school of zebra danios, or Goldfish...and thats about all I can think of...and btw it will have a good Ebo Jager heater(its a 50w or about that much atleast) and a Penguin 330 Biowheel filter...and also I really am not a fan of sand substrate...so no plans that involve that...meh, now reply...and also I might become a regular on here again...but that might be during the summer...

Well goldfish are out cause of your first rule .

Hmmm 29's not my favorite...IMO too tall to be of much use. You didnt mention lighting @all any chance of a planted tank?

I'd suggest some of the smaller shell dwellers, just use some of the special substrates rather than sand.
Or an asian tank with barbs, loaches, and a few hardy plants like java fern...

29s are indeed very tall.

So the best thing to do with them is a paludarium! Half water, half air, lots of lovely plants, maybe something like a mudskipper that'll use both areas or just some fish that will like the patches of shade and the plants (I have Altolamprologus compressiceps "Sumbu" in mine).

I def agree with angeleel, & def disagree with goldfish keeper if you REALLLLY wanted a goldfish you should get a pond!!! If you had a pond that'd be better so you can put the goldie in the pond during summer, but ONLY ONE!!! i think...

Definately tiger barbs! They are so much fun especially at feeding time.

Wait...I thought I said I do not want goldfish...

*sigh*

Oh well, I am just thinking of getting 2 rams, a large school of harlequins, and then some cories for the bottom part...is this an ok plan?

Yep, that's perfectly fine. How about this:

Two rams (which species, by the way?)
Fifteen harlequin rasboras
Eight large Corydoras (C. paleatus, for example) or
Twelve medium Corydoras (C. trilineatus) or
Fifteen small Corydoras (C. pygmaeus. NOTE: They will not spend all of their time on the bottom, and are often seen shoaling in mid-water.)

Bolivian rams, and it's ok then? What PH should I have the tank at?

Sounds good. I like Bolivians, even though many prefer German rams for their "better" coloration.

A good range for the pH should be between 6.6 and 7.5; but it really isn't that important. Just as long as your pH is stable and your water is clean, most fish won't care too much whether it (the pH) is located at their preferred level. My South American fish tank has a pH of 7.8. None of its occupants have complained yet.

You can actually have more fish in there than that. Look above, I laid out a prospective stocking list for you.

"Two rams (which species, by the way?)
Fifteen harlequin rasboras
Eight large Corydoras (C. paleatus, for example) or
Twelve medium Corydoras (C. trilineatus) or
Fifteen small Corydoras (C. pygmaeus. NOTE: They will not spend all of their time on the bottom, and are often seen shoaling in mid-water.)"

Is that a stocking list you like?
