its not that they really waste water you just have to pan ahead so you know that when u shut the faucet of there is still more water to come which is in the pythons hose

they have a valve that you can hold so when your done you turn it off.. picture siphoning, being done,turn it off..and then flush the hose of the water cause its from the tank..you dont just want to go and reverse the flow back in to fill it up right away, you would be putting what you have taken out back in that is still in the hose..using hot or cold water when siphoning makes no diffrence for its only use for pressure flow rate..

so flushing it out, turn tap off..start again to desired temp and fill tank its easy..
I wouldnt have it any other way now..lol
