I like this site for information on catfish, cories, and plecos.

The next link is a cory encyclopedia

Hope these help and get you started.

Some of the documents on this site (www.fishprofiles.com) are very informative with introducing you into the hobby. Some of the most important things that you should be learning is how to keep the water quality up and the cycling process. IF you click the Articles link and the FAQ link on the top link bar of the site it will direct you to some of your basic set up instructions. I recommend reading the Your 1st FW Aquarium, Filtration, and the Nitrogen Cycle to get started.

Good luck

Besides fishprofiles, my favorite sites are: [link=http://www.cichlid-forum.com/index.php]http://www.cichlid-forum.com/index.php" style="COLOR: #FF0000[/link], [link=http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/index.shtml]http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/index.shtml" style="COLOR: #FF0000[/link], [link=http://www.aquarticles.com/]http://www.aquarticles.com/" style="COLOR: #FF0000[/link], and [link=http://www.thekrib.com/]http://www.thekrib.com/" style="COLOR: #FF0000[/link]. There are other sites with better pictures and forums, etc., but these four have a lot of reading. But for species profiles and forums, you can't do any better than good old FP!

this site has alot of info and some really good articles. http://www.aquariacentral.com has some good stuff too. If you're looking for info about the hobby in general I would suggest getting a book from your local pet store, as there are as many different tanks/setups as there are fish

I've actually purchased a couple of books that I truly like, and that are fairly inexpensive.

[link=Everything Tropical Fish Book]http://search.barnesandnoble.com/BookSearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=kr4PBr3BaB&isbn=1580623433&fmt=PB&itm=58" style="COLOR: #9999ff[/link]

Those are two of my favorites that I keep going back to. With Aquariums For Dummies being my most used, and often consulted for crazy questions.
