	I just got a betta...

pugperson Fish Addict Posts: 877 Kudos: 953 Votes: 293 Registered: 16-May-2003	The blue water has medicine in it for the betta. Some lfs routinely treat their bettas with this medicine. To be honest I am not sure what it is. I would float the betta in the tank until the temperature equalizes, and then use a net to transfer the betta to the tank. I would not add the blue water to your newt tank. However I am not sure if bettas and newts mix...hopefully someone with more knowledge can answer that question.

No matter what color the water is, it's never a good idea to mix the LFS' water with your own tank water, even if you're on the same sytem. Always net the fish out and transfer it to the new aqaurium. Dumping the water from the bag/cup/whatever is not a good idea. GL -Formerly known as the Ferretfish
