| Interesting 50 Stocking | |

Currently I want to convert my 50 gallon from a community of livebearers with angelfish crowd control into something a bit more lively and interesting. Other inhabitants include a school of nine corydoras as well as a clown pleco for algal cleanup and a trio of albino cherry barbs. The angels and livebearers (chiefly balloon mollies conditioned to live without salt content) can be moved, yet I would like to keep the others. Im looking mainly for striking coloration and activity. Thanks in advance. ~Zach Last edited by zachjc_14 at 31-Dec-2005 11:59 |

You can eighter add another type of Barbs & they are really active or else a school of big bodied Tetra's. http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

I was thinking along the lines of smaller schools of the three variations of tiger barbs (green sumatra, albino, and the regular assortment). Any specific fish that you would suggest? |

They are very fast & active. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

You'd have enough space in there to keep them happ, and you could try and get 1 male and 2 females. Best bet would be to get 6 juveniles and find someone to offload the surplus ones to (another Cichlid fan) once you had your desired trio. make sure they have decent cave provision otherwise they'll be vying for 'real estate supremacy' with your Clown Plec ![]() Don't let 2 males stay together in that tank for long though if you do get Venezuelan Rams. Even in 50 gallons, they'll be at each other hammer and tongs once they become sexually mature. Last edited by Calilasseia at 03-Jan-2006 00:49 |
