Here are some interesting figures that could help in solving many problems.
The word here is "COULD" not "WILL"
These are a guide only the best rule in many things is common sence.

Also note in "Interactive" there is a section for calculations.

Some interesting figures on how to.

All Gall US

To calculate the number of plants.

Length in (cm/ins) X Depth (Cm/ins)
----------------------------------------------
50Metric / 8inches

Heating
25W 5.5G/20Lt
50W 10G /37Lt
75W 15G/56Lt
100W 10-25G/37-94Lt
150W 25-40G/94-151Lt
200W 40-60G/151-227Lt
300W 60-90G/227-340G

Lighting Watts per G

This is depends o the type of tank
General FW 2
Planted 2-3
African Cichlid 1-3
S African Cichlid 1-3
Goldfish 1-2
Natural Biotype 1-3
Marine Reef 2-4
Marine Fish 2

The very old. How many fish
1inch per Gall
This has so many variations a small book could be written about that statement.
Use it wisely if at all.

Tank Capacity confusions and conclusions.
To give you an example a small tank can be 12Gall/45.42Lt
But when fully aquscaped with substrate and driftwood it could easily be 8G/30Lt
A very large tank with a lot of rocks can actually be a lot less than originally thought.
Working on these figures it can be seen how many can over load their tank.

To get these figures for your own tank it actually has to be done at the beginning of all the work and measure the water after all the Aquscaping has been completed.

Centre point in Aquscaping

This actually does not refer to the “CENTRE” of the tank it refers to the “Centre” of your “Focal Vision” which is usually 1/3rd in from the left and 2/3rds back from the front.
Many will disagree here but noticed I said usually. There are mathematical methods in getting this point exactly but working with 1/3rds is more convenient.

Here are some conversions worth book marking
