Its about .5cm. We can only see one, though there may be more. I have Java moss in the tank. Is there any hope for it - what should I do? What shall I feed it, should I try and seperate it? Thanks in advance |

In a week or 2 the baby will be too big to be eaten. Java moss is perfect for hiding fry! Feed it finely crushed up flake and it will do just fine. Congrats on your new fish and your baby/many future babies! Platies are great fish! Have quite a few of my own! Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |

Unfortunately, they were all eaten by the evil danios. The next time around I preferred to catch them (I got 9) and raise them for a while in a net breeder, which I prefer over the plastic ones. I kept them in there for about 4 weeks, then I sectioned off a corner in my tank with a tank divider and let them live there for another 4 to 6 weeks. I was too concerned that they would come out from hiding when food was provided and that they would end up as food themselves. Nevertheless, there is a chance that some will survive even when left alone in the main tank. I fed mine Hakiri (spelling?) First Bites for the first couple of days, then switched over to finely crushed flake food. How big is your tank? Hope this helps, Ingo |

The baby is now about 5 days old and coming out to play more which is a bit worrying as its still small enough to get eaten I think. Its visibly growing so must be doing ok for food. My whole family is rooting for this baby. ![]() |
